Welcome!

The Good Earth Day School is proud to offer an exceptional child development program to our neighbors in Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and Georgetown.  Our school is located on a small farm adjacent to Wiley Middle School on Crystal Falls Parkway in Leander, Texas.  With just one visit, we think you will have found a peaceful, engaging, and creative place for your child to spend his or her days!  We take the best of Waldorf and Montessori education and blend them into a wonderful hands-on child development program for young children.

We have been serving children ages two to five years of age for two years, and in October 2008, we will begin to offer limited infant and toddler care for our friends and siblings two and under.  All of our classrooms are thoughtfully decorated and are full of beautiful open-end materials that are unique to both of the educational philosophies that inspire our curriculum—Montessori and Waldorf education.  We are fortunate to have a large, amply shaded play yard and small farm animals adjacent to our play yard for both hands-on care and observation.  We provide a light breakfast, a homemade lunch, and a healthy afternoon snack.  Local and organic ingredients, as well as whole grains, are used as much as possible.  In a world of “big box” schools and stores, we offer a personalized preschool experience as unique as our beloved Austin.

Our Mission

The mission of The Good Earth Day School is to provide a high-quality early childhood education to children ages three months to 5 years of age in a home-like setting.  Activities now absent from most urban children’s lives will be a key part of the curriculum, including:  cooking, gardening, outdoor exploration, sewing, woodworking, caring for animals, and housekeeping.  Woven into these experiences will be lessons that will well-prepare children to enter public or private school as kindergarteners.  The Good Earth Day School attempts to educate the whole child, touching the child’s heart and will besides his/her intellect.
